Firstly I have to admit I love Erica James and have read all her books. I was very excited to get this new book and was not disappointed. It follows the whole family, a widowed mother and her two grown up daughters and their partners. It is set mostly in a seaside setting at the family home. The eldest daughter is desperately trying to get pregnant but also worrying about her mum being alone and about her younger sister who she thinks is just floating through life with no real direction.
But all is not as it seems and the past catches up with them and shakes things up. All of them have been hiding things and now have to face up to it and move on. A returning lover with a stepson, a controlling boyfriend and an old friend all add to the story.
I really did laugh out loud at several bits and found others upsetting but I was emotionally involved with all the girls and wanted to know how they all got on. I was upset to finish this book but look forward to the next.
