I really enjoyed this book, so I gave it maximum stars. It had me hooked from the very first page. All the characters were down to earth and thoroughly believable. I enjoyed all the different characters created by the author, which generated a wealth of emotions from myself. I really felt like I was living in the book. I found that I could particularly relate to each character in turn and I felt great empathy for Martha, the elder daughter. Her's is a common problem, which doesn't always have a happy ending. I admired the strong personality that was given to her, which I hope she manages to keep, whatever the ultimate outcome. I liked the general storytelling and the situation and place the book was based in. Full of great detail. An excellent page turner, which I would be very happy to win. If not, I shall be looking out for it in the future. Well done to the author.
