Firstly this is a short book that is really gripping. All the way through I was uncertain where it was going. It reminding me of The Talented Mr Ripley. It starts in the airport where a struggling actor recognises someone he hasn’t seen for years. They embark in a tale that needs to be told about his friends life. As the two men drink in the airport lounge he tells the tale of how he saved a man from drowning and then proceeds to stalk him and get involved in his life . It shows how one incident in someone’s life can then take over and become a major part in what happens in the future. I knew there was going to be a twist at the end because the story is building up to a dramatic ending. I wasn’t surprised though, it was just ok. It does show however how obsession can take over your life. I’m not sure what the purpose of telling the story was only maybe to get rid of the guilt. All in all a decent read.
