I really enjoyed this book, and would like to thank Reader's First for sending me an advanced copy to read and review.
The story is centered around a conversation between two people in an airport who have not seen each other for over 20 years. In it, Jeff tells the story of how he rescued a man from drowning, and then finds himself being drawn into his life, and how this shapes his life going forwards.
It sounds like an odd premise for a book, but for me it really worked well. The time switches between the present and the past worked smoothly and didn't jar as it would have been easy for them to do. The plot moves along as a good pace, and the writing draws you in, making you want to keep reading to discover what happens next.
I had not heard of this author before I received a copy of this book, but based on this I shall be looking out for more books by them.
