This is an incredible book.
The first chapter is a tricky one. The narrative doesn't flow and the sentences are incomplete so it's pretty hard to read. However the 2nd chapter is completely different in terms of narration. The chapters kind of alternate from the perspective of Kalala and Lizzie, from the current moment to an earlier time. Kalala's chapters become much easier to read as the book carries on, I think my brain adjusted pretty easily and it's 100% worth persevering because this book is amazing. It has a flow and a dynamic like no other book I've read. This isn't a quick or easy read yet I found myself completely gripped. The last 3rd of the book especially is a work of art. I loved it!
