(Note: this is a first impression review.)

A novel set in a world where every person's physical size depends on their wealth. The poorest are rat-sized, and billionaires are the size of buildings. I really want to see where this book goes. I was reminded of The Borrowers, except this was remarkably more brilliant.

Warner is the size of a rat, his mother got attacked by a cat and his sister dreams of 'marrying up'- literally. They get stepped on, pushed aside, ignored. They're practically invisible, frequently mistaken for garbage. They're the poorest of their kind. The world is set against them.

I especially liked how in spite of this being more of a novel touching upon, oftentimes brutal, societal inequalities, Jesse Andrews manages to write with humour and a unique imagination.
