Having recently been introduced to Lynda La Plante I can unashamedly say I am obsessed! Murder Mile is another fine example of an excellent storyline. With multiple murders occurring the pressure is on for Jane Tennison and the team to catch the killer. The book is full of twists, constantly leaving the reader wondering who the culprit is until the final moments. It almost has you thinking like a detective yourself and you can't help but feel excited when Jane appears as if she's onto something.
It is an effortless read, broken up into decent length chapters. Lynda La Plante's writing is amazing with so much attention to detail - even the gruesome parts. Although it is a story of a serious nature, it is well balanced with a few laughs here and there as would be expected from a genuine police team. Being able to follow Jane Tennison's career is wonderful and I can't wait to read the next installment!
