I found this book very interesting and devoured it in a surprisingly short amount of time. Thanks to the endless stream of crime on Netflix I have got a lot of enjoyment from the genre. But it was so fascinating to learn it all in a fresh, rather profound way. It was unusual, to say the least, learning of the real world implications and importance that crime has had on the world. As the author is a lawyer herself, it really came across how knowledgeable she is to the subject.
I thought that the book moved along at a pace that wasn't too fast to lose you but not too slow that you get to the end feeling like you know too much about nothing.
Even though it is a non-fiction book, there were times where it felt like a gripping novel - in such a way that made the entire thing more gripping. It didn't portray as a criminology lecture mid way through a semester, - but more like the University open day lecture that entices you in.
