When I first started reading this book I felt a little confused. The chapters are written from three perspectives; Lizzie, Emma and Stella. Stella is Emma’s daughter and Lizzie’s story is somewhat before the time Emma’s is. There gets to a point after the first 100 pages or so though that everything becomes less confusing how the twists I did not expect. The book has many dark themes running throughout and is completely unpredictable. One of the best books I have read for a while. The plot is so different and carefully revealed at just the right points. It’s extremely well written and I want to read more from this author. I highly recommend My Mother’s Secret. It’s a secret that you will not want to waste time finding out.
