This book focusses on the relationship between Korede and Ayoola, two sisters from Lagos in Nigeria. Korede is the sensible older sister, she works diligently as a hospital nurse and is obsessed with cleanliness and holding her family together. Ayoola is the scatty younger sister, incredibly beautiful and self-absorbed. She also happens to be a serial killer who kills the men that are drawn to her and expects Korede to clean up the crime scenes and help dispose of the bodies once she is done. After her latest killing, she visits the hospital Korede works at and turns her charm on a doctor that Korede is secretly in love with.

The writing is short and snappy, an incredibly easy to read novel. It also provided an insight to the culture of Nigeria which I found fascinating.

It is told from Korede's perspective so we never really know the true motives behind Ayoola's killing spree (although the flashbacks to their childhood provide many clues). The author has written this in an almost humorous style, but there are many different levels to the story and I ended up feeling quite emotional for the girls and their mother by the last page.
