Night by Night by Jack Jordan is a story that focusses on the main character Rose who suffers terribly from insomnia. The tragedy that occurs during the early chapters is totally heartbreaking, completely debilitating and is something that she never quite recovers from. After a journal lands in her possession, she realises that something dark and terrible may have occurred to the author and makes it her mission to discover the truth. So begins a terrifying and dangerous journey into a corrupt and homophobic police force and societies judgement on those that see as different to themselves as a whole.
This is a thought-provoking harrowing and incredibly sad tale. It is very well written, gripping and thrilling. It literally had me holding my breath at times. It is an intense but rewarding read and I would definitely recommend, though it is certainly not for the faint of heart!
