I thought that the premise for this novel sounded excellent. I was really interested in reading about Rose's life, how she coped with her crippling insomnia and then the finding of Finn's journal and where this led her.

Sadly though, I could not get past the first chapter. Mainly because of the description of the terrible road accident that was caused when Rose fell asleep at the wheel. As a mother of twin girls myself, I just could not bring myself to keep reading something so terribly sad.

However, if the accident had not occurred in the manner that it did, I would have happily read on. So I just have to accept that sometimes novels hit a little too close to home and they are not for me.
