What a piece of writing.
At the beginning I didn’t really know what I had let myself in for and it took a few chapters for me to get into it.
What an eye opening experience and with what is happening in America right now with women it just really hit home.
Kia is such an interesting character. So childlike but so adult at the same time. Her commitment to the people she loves - her brother, Trevor and Ale is astounding. And with everything she went through she still cared more for Trevor than anyone else.
This book does not show the police department in a very good light. And I was shocked and astounded at the ending. I did not think that was the way it was going to end.
I was also shocked by the adults in Kia’s life and how they did not give her the life she deserved or even provide for her when they were not around. Especially her brother. Such a selfish person. Overall an excellent piece of writing.
