I read the synopsis of this book and knew I had to read it. With so much displacement in the world during the pandemic and now the Ukraine situation, this really struck a cord as not being rare anymore but instead being a lot of peoples reality.
I feel like I went on this journey with the characters and felt their pain as they battled to be reunited and then questioning what their reality actually is. The fact that they are torn apart with no warning and are so desperate to just be together makes this an emotional read that is hard at times to process.
Everyone should read this book, those that take the simple things for granted and those that question the complexity of their world. For me, it left me thankful and emotionally attached to the characters and their journeys. I would definitely recommend this book and will be passing my copy on to family and friends.
