Good story but the ending was a little inconclusive for my taste

This was such a clever concept for a novel, Sama and Hadi a young couple torn apart by bureaucracy and red tape and it was good all the way through, you felt the pain and distress of the characters.
Hadi has gone to Jordan to sort out his father's burial but on re entry to the USA he has hit a new law that denies him ingress and he cannot get back to his heavily pregnant wife.
The story was heart rending and very topical yet for me I found it lost pace in its final pages and also it seemed rather rushed and also inconclusive as to what happened after those final pages.
The situation was left very untenable for the reader and I like a certain ending, I know the edging will appeal to some readers as it would inspire hope but I'm more of a "certainty" either way kind of reader.
Beautifully written and lyrical, you can tell the idea behind the story has been exhaustively researched, even I would venture to say maybe some personal knowledge of these situations.
Great story but just the ending lacked a little something for me.
