Overall, this book is well worth a read especially with all that it is going on in the world, it is nice to have something to reflect and think about as you read.

The lot is really the strong point, addressing dark adn difficult themes of immigration and migration. At times, the writing style is so beautiful but in other places quite hard to follow and doesn't flow as well as I would like it to, however, I am not one for complex reads.

The characters keep the plot well rounded, you have real empathy for them and can see the realism in every one of them. The relationships between them are real and moving and makes the story even more emotive.

I finished the book feeling satisfied and full of various emotions. It may not be a book I would pick up and read but once read it, you can't help feeling it has left you with so much to ponder about which surely is the sign of a good read!
