Mix of great premise but inconsistent writing

It's difficult not to immediately be captured by the premise of the book particularly when such things are on the news all the time in real life. The characters are compelling and the plot is a generally good one with a few holes here and there. However, the tone was a bit young in terms of writing style, and also a bit melodramatic and overly flowery. It was a little confusing and inconsistent as the subject matter is so adult but the sentiments expressed and they way they are expressed come across as a little naive and aimed at a younger target age group than the subject. Frankly, there are so many sentences fat with long elaborate metaphors that it became quite tedious at times to get through. All in all, not a book I would want to read again, but for those readers for whom to a more poetic style of prose appeals, this may well be right up your alley.
