A deeply affecting story giving insight to immigration and the troubles in Syria with a love story in the mix.
The story of a couple of immigrants from Syria moved to the USA tells the account from different perspectives about their lives in Syria and how they’re relationship Blossomed and broken and then fixed itself. No light to land on- 2 Syrian refugees meet together in America and marry. Whilst Sama is pregnant, Hadi visits home as his dad dies but he gets stuck outside of America due to a travel ban. Despite the size of the book I read it really quickly, it was poetically written with the story told from both Sama and Hadi view also flitting back to the time before they both left Syria. I wouldn’t have chosen this book off a shelf, it was a readers first but so glad I won it. I’m going to look at the authors other books! It was an easy read and poetically written. A loved it
