Norma by Sofi Oksanen is hard to put into a category. It has elements of fantasy, mystery, detective novels. It also has a darkness to it that appeals to me generally and I usually am attracted by it in a book. In this case, I didn't expect the darkness until I started reading it.
The writing is also very beautiful and poetic which I also appreciated.
To be honest though, I don't think I will be thinking about this for a long time. I found it a bit forgettable. I can't really pinpoint something that was wrong with it, on the contrary, I can much easier say what I did like about it. But I didn't read it with much excitement and now that I finished it I feel a bit indiferent towords it. I would read again from this author though.
