This is a story set in a place where there is danger lurking and poison brewing. What I really liked about this was the whole idea of sensitive hair- it is pretty original(I think) as I have not read anything else like this before. You feel instantly feel drawn into the story and feel for grieving Norma. Did her mother really kill herself? That question plagues you throughout the book. She is a great character! Not too perfect or too unrelateable.
