If I'm honest, I didn't really understand what was happening in this book, even at the end it was still vague. I think in part this has to do with the translation from Finnish to English, as whilst each individual sentence made sense, the overall plot was slightly off kilter and a bit muddled. It also probably has to do with the style of writing in general.
However, that's not to say I didn't enjoy it! The best way I can describe it is like floating down a kind of lazy river ride - I went with flow and it was quite relaxing, even comforting.
The idea of the plot itself was actually very interesting and novel to me - I wanted the story of her hair to be explored in and of itself. I could have written a whole book just on her hair and it's adventures. However, the plot was quite dramatic in parts and I could feel that there was a lot for the characters to lose. I certainly sympathised with some!
Overall, and interesting but surreal read.
