The opportunity to discover the inner workings of a pure literary genius was amazing, his retelling of all his real life experiences was thrilling and kept you engaged and wanting more at all times.

From when he's father (he's hero) single handedly took on three lions to he's love of reading he got from his beloved mother Elfreda. He's experience of being unhappy at boarding school and being able to escape into the imaginary world of books.

Living a life on the edge, trying any adrenaline inducing activity which he eventually realised at a late age he should probably give up. Meeting famous people , going down mine shafts etc for research purposes. Telling the reader how he goes through the writing experience and where he gets inspiration from was interesting to say the least.

All the rejection and resistance before acceptance and success - inspirational.

A definite must.
