This novel is often described as a political thriller, however I found nothing thrilling about it. The summary made the book sound a lot better and more promising than it actually is.
Overall, the book is a lot more political than thrilling which gave the book depressing and boring overtones. This made the writing hard to get into and a lot less enjoyable than I thought it was going to be.
Despite the book being more political, at least the author himself has experience of politics and the political world and can make these parts accurate, if boring.
