Cute

Chemical Hearts is a good read, the thing about this book though, is that it was very similar to every single other ya contemporary I’ve read, until the ending quarter. Although there were little intricacies I absolutely lived for, (quotes are below), most of the plot was just basic. The core of this book is beautiful and I loved the way it was executed towards the end, but mostly the characters were quite basic and the story itself at times was very dull. Although the majority of this book I didn’t care for, the principles and exploration of heartbreak, grief and unknowns of love were superb, absolutely gorgeous. In saying that, it wasn’t enough to redeem the mundane nature of the rest of the book.
I personally quite enjoyed the writing style though.
That being said i still think this book has the potential to be loved by lots of people. It wasn't bad just not my style.
