Erm I don't quite rightly know what to say about this one.
Except that for such a relatively short novel it seemed to feel like I was wading through a book about the size of "War and peace!"
The most half hearted and mundane piece of writing I have come across in quite a while.
It's the start of the pandemic and Senderovsky has rounded up a group of friends to share his country manor and hole up so to speak at his country manor.
Gossip, sniping and sex soon start to derail his plans of being surrounded by people he thought he wojld enjoy spending time with.
All seem to take, take, take yet give little in return.
It just all felt very disconnected to me, like the author himself had no real idea of where he wanted to go with his ideas.
For me the characters involved didn't really interest me as I didn't feel I could empathise with or relate to their situations.
In fact I downright disliked them.
I read the blurb and got quite excited with the concept of this but left very underwhelmed.
Don't think I will be exploring this author's work further as I didn't appreciate his characterisation or writing style.
To each their own but certainly not for me I'm afraid.
