Okay so I absolutely know this book is based on fantasy with flamethrowers and things but I think the overall synopsis is far too relatable to the current situation occupying the world. I do not want to read about what i feel is already happening around me.
I understand that this has probably not been written to cause dismay, quite the opposite actually, to bring up light moments and raise hope around everybody in their time of need but as somebody that has lost multiple people close to them during this pandemic, i cannot pretend to be enjoying a story like this.
I much prefer fiction books, barely based on real events... But that is because at the end of the day, i read to get a sense of change, a relaxing break or escape from reality. If i had not been through the pandemic and lost people in the process, i would probably be able to engage more.
