The question of 'what is this labyrinth of halls' is something that hits me every time I read the blurb; the blurb immediately begins exploring complex yet thought-provoking aspects of the plot that immediately immerse its readers into the life of 'Piranesi'. The 'House' being capitalised is also a particular detail that instantaneously caught my attention, literally from the first line into the blurb! What is this House? What leans in the labyrinth of halls, statues, staircases? The book's main selling point remains so nebulous but so immersive at the same time. The imagery is fantastically executed and, at the moment, I have so many questions for the House of Piranesi. Who is the Other? What is the Dead? Piranesi seems to be set in such a bizarre and whimsical world, and the blurb gives us a small taste of it - without giving away too much. This book seems to be a page-turner, and words cannot begin to express how excited I am to read it!
