Piranesi lives in the House. Perhaps he always has.
In his notebooks, day after daycare he makes a clear and careful record of its wonders. Messages begin to appear and Piranesi learns that there are potentially more people than he first though. The world that he thought he knew, suddenly becomes very different.

Well, I don’t really know where to start with this one. It took me a LONG time to get in to it. The writing is undeniably beautiful, the descriptions about the house and statues are just lovely.
The book is completely of two halves for me- the first being very descriptive, but the second is far more my cup of tea. As more characters were introduced and it becomes clear that Piranesi’s recollections aren’t always as they seem, I flew through the book and at the end felt really warmed by the story.

This is one I would recommend, but you definitely need to persevere with.
