The perfect fantasy mystery!
Piranesi lives in the House.Perhaps he always has.
In Piranesi we follow the character of Piranesi and his experiences of the ever-changing ethereal world in which he lives. As mysteries start to pile up, we, alongside Piranesi start questioning his very being in the house.
Throughout the book we are drawn into Piranesi's world and learn that all is very much not as it seems. The world created for Piranesi is beautiful and lyrically described and we are brought right back down to earth with a thud when it is over.
As new characters get introduced into Piranesi's very limited world we find out that his most trusted friend may not be all he says he is and the magical home more of a prison.
This has to be up there with some of my favourite books, I loved the combination of magical fantasy and a mystery we solve right alongside the main character.
