This book is written with great descriptive detail. In this way, it is similar to Erin Morgenstern's works "The Night Circus" and the "Starless Sea." This writing easily draws the reader into the world of its character. The mystery behind the book is so compelling that the reader immediately jumps into a narrative eager to answer all of their questions. My first impression of the book left me hopping for a little more dialogue between characters at the start of the book. However, based on the plot of the book where Piranesi is isolated among a labyrinth, more dialogue understandably would not make sense. Additionally, the length of the book is great for a quick read compared to longer works of fiction and Susanna's previous book, "Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrell." Overall, this book was very well written. After reading this book, I am excited to read more of Susanna Clarke's work!
