I instantly related to Sophie when she reflects upon the whispers being said about her, I love finding chracaters in stories that I can be like "yes, I understand you, I see you." I love how the book opens dramatically, then adds a few twists and turns to the classic fairytail. Currently I am loving this darker, feistier re-invention, the characters are fleshed out more and there's bite to this story. It makes me wonder what could happen next. I think the cover is really powerful, the shattering apple could be Sophie breaking away from the mold or the rumors that people say about her, how people's negative talk and comments are poison to the one listening.
