I was initially drawn to the cover of this book and that it was a fairytale retelling. I love retellings and this book delivered on that, I found myself unable to put the book down. This is a retelling of Snow White with a twist. Once upon a time, a girl named Sophie rode into the forest with the queen's huntsman. Her lips were the color of ripe cherries, her skin as soft as new-fallen snow, her hair as dark as midnight. When they stopped to rest, the huntsman pulled out his knife . . . and took Sophie's heart.

Sophie embarks on a perilous journey to retrieve her heart from the one who has stolen it. Along the way, she learns powerful lessons about herself, her kingdom, and what it really takes to lead.

I really loved the characters and how fast paced the book was making it easy to keep on reading as I just wanted to know what happened next. I would recommend this book if you love fantasy/retellings and after a fun read. I will definitely be picking more books up by this author.
