Great Snow White retelling. Follows the character Sophie who starts of as a timid afraid character who obeys her stepmothers, the queen, command. Her stepmother is a cruel character who only wants to keep her position on the throne. When her stepmother sends someone out to kill her, Sophie finds herself in an unfamiliar place surrounded by some friendly dwarves, and with a new clockwork heart.This story follows Sophie on her journey to steal back her real heart, and her journey to making new acquaintances and to steal back her kingdom from the evil grips of her stepmother.
Sometimes retellings can get pretty boring as they’re either exactly the same or completely off. However this book was greatly written and the plot was great. Sophie’s character development was great too. She transforms from a shy naive girl who believes everything her stepmother tells her to a young girl who recalled the true strength of kindness
