Based on the first few pages that I read, this book looks really good. Sophie is a very good main character. She is sweet and caring. I love Snow White and I think this retelling will take a very fun spin on it. Sophie is battling with insecurities after the girls in her school make fun of her repeatedly. I think this is very relatable for a lot of young girls that might be reading this novel. I have read Jennifer Donnelly’s previous book ‘step sister’ and enjoyed it quite a lot. Jennifer Donnelly’s main characters are flawed and yet very strong. They are wonderful role models for the people reading her books. I’m also a sucker for a retelling of a classic story so it’s almost guaranteed that I will enjoy this book. I’m looking forward to reading more of this book and learning about Sophie and the rest of the characters. Jennifer usually takes a fun twist on stories and I’m excited to see how that will play out in this book.
