in only two chapters this book has without a doubt held my interest. I was unsure when the first chapter had given so much information but found it very effective continuing on and has left me with more questions than I would have had otherwise. The writing also flows extremely well. at no point did I feel bored or have a desire to stop reading and come back. I can certainly see myself finishing the book and look forward to reading it when I can. The author succeeds in immediately holding your interest with the different characters that already have proven to be layered with complex motivations. I find myself wanting to learn more about the main character, tarisai and about her thoughts and what drives her. I am also interested to learn more about the world around her. Reading from her perspective, we know as little of the world as she does and will likely learn about it along side her.
