Looks like another winner from this talented author Charity Norman, whose ‘The Secrets of Strangers’ was a compelling read.
A promise of mystery, intrigue, sadness and secrets will be revealed as Artist Emily Kirkland returns to the small community in New Zealand where she grew up as the daughter of the now ageing and recently diagnosed Dementia sufferer Dr Feliz Kirkland.
Emily has been summoned to return by Raewyn Parata who has been taking care of her father whilst Emily and her sister and brother have been either too busy or too far away to be of any support. Raewyn the good neighbour is also the mother of Leah Parata who vanished off the face of the earth 25 years ago after hiking in the Ruahine Range.
Can’t wait to read this to conclusion as I am sure whatever pre-conceived ideas I may have will be blown out of the water.
