This is a new author to me so I didn’t know what to expect with her writing and I very much want to pick up another written by her. From the first word, I was committed to reading. Reading the majority of the book in one day. I could easily imagine the scenes and how the characters looked to me in my head. That mystery element within the first chapter piped my interest even more. Even though at different times of life, I resonated with Emily when it came to her dad having Alzheimer's. Instantly my heart went out for her, understanding the questioning on what to do and the best thing for the family member. I enjoyed the little snippets of the past, they tied in well with the story in gaining more knowledge and understanding of who the relationships are as they are now. I did not see where the book was going in relation to the mystery and it left my heart swelling but also content.
