I like the idea of a chance overheard remark setting off a chain of events that might end up who knows where. Laurence doesn't sound like a particularly nice individual but, then again, the author may deliberately sending us down the wrong path. Or perhaps he is simply a two-timing cheat with a lack of morals. Brioni's an interesting character and I like the idea of a female tech genius for once. I could manage with less detail about what everyone is wearing and the colour of their sofas but the plot sounds quite intriguing.
