I was sadly disappointed by this book. I had high hopes based on my first impression. I thought the concept of winding back and forward was interesting but it just didn't live up to my hopes. Although it was readable it felt very middle of the road. I made myself persevere to the end but it wasn't really worth it. I found it frustrating that the reviews on the cover were so glowing when I just don't see that the book merited them. There wasn't much tension, the characters weren't particularly likeable, especially the victim, and the ending was predictable. There was perhaps one moment of tension where I was gripped but besides that, it felt very sedentary. When there are so many incredible crime novels on the market, I wouldn't recommend wasting time with this one.
