I was really worried I was missing pages and had downloaded something wrong when I first opened the first impression. The story launches in, full pace, almost mid sentence on the very first page. It's a little bit disorienting and something to get used to but after a little while, the style of writing settles into something I can keep up with.
The Singaporean style English is a bit tricky to pick up when you have no experience with it but I think with time it will get easier to read it as I learn more of the definitions for the slang words. It's a type of story that's very different from what I'd normally read and it might be a nice thing to challenge myself with.
