From the very start there is a warmth and humility in the writing that makes me want to understand what makes Michael Emmett tick, how he came to get so embroiled in crime and how he comes out a changed man. We learn he has a troubled childhood and feel sympathy for what he has experienced. I'm really interested to learn more about him.
