Interesting
This was an interesting read.
I had to keep reminding myself that this is a not an autobiography, it’s not the story of Michael’s life.
As an autobiography it lacks substance but as a memoir it works really well. It narrates Michael’s memories of what he was to what he has become.
It’s not a book that I can say I enjoyed reading.
I felt that it could have been written better and I do wonder what Harriet Compston's input was. At times it felt like I was reading one side of an interview. Little snippets of memories here and there, and some repetitiveness.
But it was interesting and it did make me think. Do I believe it? I'm not sure and, that doesn't really matter. It's Michael's story to tell.
I do admire this man for the journey he has made and I find myself wishing him well.
Thank you to Readers First, Harper Collins and Michael Emmett for the ARC in return for my honest review.
