I was interested to read this book and explore how such huge lifestyle and mindset changes could occur. Michael Emmett was a career criminal following in his father's footsteps and when his criminal activities caught up with him he was sentenced to twelve years imprisonment. This story follows his transformation of mind to become a father, the likes of which he never had. I felt it was an easy and honest read which, for a large part of the book, focussed on his childhood and upbringing. Later we are told how Michael started to question the path he was on when he read an article in the Mail on Sunday which told of how prisoners could turn their lives around for the better and we are told how he fought the demons of his past to build a better future for himself and family. It's a pretty down to earth read and not a long book which I found interesting and was glad I read it.
