The cover and title don't really match the contents of this book. I vaguely recall the story in the news, unfortunately many other people have fallen foul of conmen in similar ways, albeit not always to this extent financially and emotionally.

It's clear the author has very little time for the authorities, particularly the police in the UK. It's always easy to criticise an author, but when it's someone's reality and life, and to such an extent it's understandable they have strong opinions. These might not be the same thoughts of us readers or speculators, and what we think we would have done in their situation. This is what makes it a good read in my opinion, you are constantly asking yourself why did this happen, how can things go so wrong and be so unbelievable?

In places this book did go over similar ground, but thanks to her seemingly large friendship group and personality, although this story was unlikely to end well from the outset, the author has found her 'peace'.
