The title of the book drew me in, however I didn't feel it was quite fitting as Carolyn didn't even spend much time with Mark, never mind a night.

It was interesting to read but it was hard to sympathise with Carolyn in the first three quarters of the book as I struggled to believe someone would fall for Mark's surreal empty promises. Even the first few texts she received from Mark immediately raised alarm bells for me as he kept messaging her and guilt tripping her for not replying.

However, when she finally went to the police I did feel sorry for her as she waited years to get justice and closure but I'm glad she was determined even when the police weren't necessarily taking her seriously and kept misplacing the evidence.

Overall, I felt that the book was longer than it needed to be and it was a bit repetitive but it was well written and an easy read.
