The tone of this book is definitely aimed at the younger teenager, it's plot is fairly simplistic and the tone is very chatty. That said, it touches on some important topics, such as race, privilege and technology, without being preachy.
At first, I wasn't sure whether I was enjoying it. It felt like a lot of time was spent on setting up the context and background information, which didn't really flow and felt quite clunky. However, once the story actually got going I did enjoy it. I could see the twists coming because a lot of the problems were resolved so easily that I knew they couldn't be over. However, I couldn't always tell exactly what the twist was going to be so that was a bonus! It is certainly a light read, but sometimes it's nice to have a bit of light relief, a quick and easy read. I'm actually quite surprised that I really want to know what happens next!
