This book kept me interested from page one. M A Bennett has taken a unique concept and made it dark, twisted and terribly terribly thrilling. The main character, Greer, could have verged into Mary Sue territory but Bennett manages to avoid this by giving her realistic flaws explored throughout the novel.
Although at times you are required to suspend your sense of disbelief, the twists and turns climax at such a thrilling conclusion that I was almost angry I hadn't worked it out sooner. Bennett includes minute details within the narrative to intrigue the reader and nothing is insignificant in this story.
I absolutely loved the setting descriptions in the book which displayed decaying British stately home in all their splendour.
