After reading just a few pages of the first impression, I was captivated by the story. It's the kind of book that you can't put down.
Friedrich childhood broke my heart. A mother full of love for her boy, trying to make him an artist, something she could not do. In the end, broken dreams had won. A loving father, trying to provide for the family but at the same time abandoned his child when he needed him the most. From the very beginning, it was an emotional rollercoaster.
