The beginning of the book reads differently to that which I expected from reading the blurb. However, that’s not to say this makes it any less enjoyable, if anything it makes it all the more intriguing as the back story to one of the main protagonists is played out, setting the tone, hinting at some of the reasoning and paradoxical nature between the younger years and what then follows in later Nazi Germany.
