I'm a huge fan of historical fiction, especially set during World War II, and Stella sounds like it will be similar to Michael Ridpath's The Diplomat's Wife that I was lucky enough to read recently thanks to Readers First. The reveal of Stella's real identity, Jewish identity and abuse at the hands of the Nazis is a harrowing plot that was, unfortunately, all too true for people at this time. A life of living in fear and hiding who you really are being an everyday part of people's lives. The love story running through the book, and lightening the mood of the horrors people experienced at the time, makes the book both heart-warming and hopeful while bringing much needed attention to the terror people endured at the time. Stella sounds like a fascinating read from such a young author.
